The new catalog includes 161 newly detected black hole merger events, pushing the total number of gravitational wave detections to 390. Among the standout findings are the clearest gravitational wave signal ever recorded and the most accurate localization of a black hole merger to date.
Researchers also found growing evidence that some detected black holes appear to be products of previous black hole mergers, suggesting a chain of collision events in cosmic history.
