Apple Intelligence Registered with Chinese Cyberspace Regulator

Apple has registered its Apple Intelligence AI service with China's Cyberspace Administration (CAC), according to a report from Nikkei Asia. This registration represents a key regulatory requirement for launching internet-based services in China.

The move suggests Apple is working to make its AI capabilities available to iPhone users in China, where strict regulations govern artificial intelligence services. Foreign technology companies must register their AI products with Chinese authorities before offering them to users in the country.

Apple Intelligence, which powers various AI features across Apple's ecosystem, has been gradually rolling out in other markets. The Chinese registration indicates Apple is pursuing the necessary approvals to expand availability of these features to its large user base in China.

The Cyberspace Administration of China handles the registration and approval process for internet services, including AI-powered tools, under the country's strict data and technology regulations.
