Apple Launches 'Upgrade' Leasing Program for iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch

Apple has officially launched "Apple Upgrade," a new leasing program that brings the familiar car-lease model to consumer electronics. The service, rolling out today in the United States, covers iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch devices.

The program offers customers three flexibility options at the end of their subscription term: they can keep the device, pay it off early to own it outright, or upgrade to a newer model before the term ends. This approach mirrors how automobile leasing works, allowing users to stay current with the latest hardware without committing to a full purchase.

The timing of the launch comes shortly after Apple raised prices on MacBooks, iPads, and other devices, citing ongoing memory and storage shortages as the reason. Notably, iPhones were not included in those price increases. The Upgrade program provides an alternative path for customers who want access to premium Apple hardware while spreading costs over time rather than paying the full retail price upfront.
