Apple Set to Unveil First Touchscreen MacBook at October Event

Apple is preparing to make a significant shift in its MacBook lineup with the anticipated announcement of its first touchscreen MacBook at an October event, according to industry reports.

The move represents a notable change for Apple, which has historically avoided adding touchscreen functionality to its MacBooks despite the feature being common on Windows laptops. The company has long maintained that touchscreens belonged on iPads rather than Macs, but growing market pressure and competitive dynamics appear to have shifted its position.

In addition to the touchscreen MacBook, Apple is expected to reveal other products featuring OLED displays at the same event. OLED technology offers deeper blacks and improved contrast ratios compared to traditional LCD panels, and Apple has been gradually expanding OLED across its product lineup.

The October event would mark one of Apple's final product launches of the year, following a pattern of fall announcements that often include updated Macs and iPads.
