Athenahealth adds Claude access to patients’ medical records
Athenahealth patients can now use Anthropic’s Claude to ask questions about their medical records, according to a partnership between the health-care technology company and the AI provider.
The service is intended to make health information easier for patients to access and understand through conversational queries. However, the partnership also potentially gives Anthropic access to a substantial collection of personal medical data, with the scale of the deployment raising questions about how patient information is used, protected, and governed.
