Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg Placed on Unwilling Leave of Absence
Matt Mullenweg, the CEO of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, has been placed on a paid leave of absence. Mullenweg stated in an internal company message that the decision was made by the board against his wishes. He further alleged that Automattic's Chief Financial Officer, Mark Davies, conspired with board members Ann Dunwoody, Toni Schneider, and Sue Decker to place him on leave. Mullenweg, who co-founded WordPress.org, has led Automattic since 2014.
