ChatGPT Gets 'Intelligent UI' with Interactive Visuals in Major Interface Overhaul
OpenAI is launching a new "Intelligent UI" feature for ChatGPT that marks a significant shift in how the chatbot presents information. Rolling out to all users alongside the GPT-6 model, the update gives ChatGPT the ability to combine traditional text responses with interactive visuals including diagrams, charts, forms, and tappable buttons.
According to OpenAI's blog post, the company trained GPT-6 to recognize when generating interactive visuals would be more helpful than text alone, as well as how to properly format these elements within a response. The example shown demonstrates how asking about the design of a seven-speed bicycle could produce a diagram of the bike with interactive buttons that highlight different components.
The feature represents a move toward more dynamic and engaging AI interactions, allowing users to explore information through visual interfaces rather than reading through lengthy text explanations.
