Major AI Chatbots Experience Simultaneous Outage
On Thursday morning, three of the most widely-used AI chatbots—OpenAI's ChatGPT, xAI's Grok, and Anthropic's Claude—experienced concurrent service disruptions.
ChatGPT users began encountering error messages at approximately 11AM ET. OpenAI's status page reported "elevated errors across ChatGPT and Codex," affecting numerous functionalities including conversational access, user logins, file uploads, voice mode, search features, deep research capabilities, and image generation.
