Helion raises $225 million to advance fusion plant and semiconductor technology

Fusion energy startup Helion has secured $225 million in additional funding to accelerate development of its first fusion power plant.

The plant is expected to provide electricity to Microsoft in 2028. Helion is also working on new semiconductor designs intended to double the output of its power plants, potentially improving the capacity of the facilities it plans to deploy.

The new funding and semiconductor development are part of Helion’s effort to bring its fusion-based power generation technology into operation at a larger scale.
