Google TPUs Enter Meta Data Centers and the External Market
Google’s Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) are now running AI workloads in Meta’s data centers, extending the accelerators’ deployment beyond Google’s own infrastructure.
The chips have also reportedly been sold to external customers for the first time. Google’s wider hardware strategy could therefore compete more directly with Nvidia, which remains a central supplier of accelerated computing systems for AI workloads.
