Microsoft 365 Family and Premium Users Can Now Share AI Benefits with Up to Six People

Microsoft announced that it will begin allowing Microsoft 365 Family and Premium subscribers to share AI benefits with other members on their plans. Previously, AI-powered features like Copilot were only accessible to the primary account holder, even though other plan members could use Office apps and OneDrive storage.

Starting in the coming months, up to five additional people on a Family or Premium plan will be able to access Copilot and related AI usage features alongside the primary account holder. This brings the total potential users per plan to six people.

This change aligns AI feature sharing with the existing sharing structure for other Microsoft 365 benefits, creating a more equitable distribution of the subscription's value across all members on a shared plan.

The expansion was communicated to affected subscribers via email, with Microsoft indicating that the rollout will occur gradually over the coming months. Users are encouraged to check their Microsoft 365 account settings as the feature becomes available.
