NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Targets August 30 Launch

NASA is preparing to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30, marking a significant milestone for space-based astronomy. The telescope is designed with a field of view approximately 100 times larger than that of the iconic Hubble Space Telescope, enabling it to survey vast regions of the sky in a single observation. This expanded capability is expected to accelerate astronomical surveys and support research ranging from exoplanet detection to investigations into dark energy and dark matter. The telescope is named in honor of Nancy Grace Roman, NASA's first Chief of Astronomy, who played a pivotal role in planning the agency's space science programs.
