NASA’s Perseverance Sets Distance Record on Mars
NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover has established a new distance record for off-world robotic exploration. The rover has traveled 28.10 miles across Mars, exceeding the distance driven by any vehicle on another world.
Perseverance’s achievement is attributed in part to its autonomous navigation technology and increasingly capable driving systems. These capabilities have allowed the rover to cover greater distances while navigating the Martian surface.
