NASA Seeks Commercial Options for Hubble’s Future
NASA is seeking input from commercial providers on possible ways to extend the Hubble Space Telescope’s mission or safely conclude it.
The request opens the door to industry-led proposals that could support additional scientific work, maintain the observatory, or help manage a controlled end to operations. Any specific approach would remain subject to NASA’s review and approval.
Hubble has been a central tool for astronomy, and its transition presents questions about both scientific continuity and the responsible retirement of space infrastructure.
