OpenAI reportedly resumes model training without live internet access
OpenAI has resumed training its AI models without live internet access, according to reports from the Taipei Times, TechCrunch, and Bloomberg.
TechCrunch reported that the company said it would no longer train its models on the live internet, citing “significant risks.” Bloomberg connected the policy change to cyber incidents, while the Taipei Times described the resumption of training in an internet-free environment.
Taken together, the reports point to a more restricted approach to model training: OpenAI is continuing the process, but without direct access to live online material.
