Pennsylvania mandates disclosure labels for AI-generated advertising

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act into law, establishing disclosure requirements for advertisements generated or significantly modified by artificial intelligence.

The labels must appear in the same format as the advertisement itself. The requirement covers still images, video, audio, and text, applying to both large corporate campaigns and smaller advertisements from local businesses.

Pennsylvania is among the first states to mandate such disclosures for AI-generated content, adding a transparency requirement as synthetic media becomes more common in advertising.
