Qualcomm Announces Double-Digit Price Increases Amid Component Shortages
Qualcomm has informed customers of plans to increase prices by "a percentage in the double digits," according to a Bloomberg report. The price hikes will take effect for products shipped after September 1st.
The semiconductor company states it has "exhausted its ability to absorb higher costs from suppliers" as ongoing component shortages continue to pressure pricing. Prior to announcing the increases, Qualcomm reportedly attempted to source components from alternate suppliers, but these efforts did not sufficiently mitigate the cost pressures.
