Researchers Develop Full-Color Night Vision System Using Infrared Translation
Traditional night vision technology has long been associated with its distinctive green glow, a result of image intensification that amplifies available light. Researchers have now developed a new approach that fundamentally changes how we perceive infrared imagery.
The system translates both wavelength and intensity information from the infrared spectrum directly into colors visible to the human eye. This means objects and environments that would normally be invisible in darkness can now be seen in full color, similar to how we perceive the world in daylight.
