SpaceX's AI Compute Business Triples Revenue to $2.6 Billion

SpaceX's artificial intelligence division has emerged as a significant revenue driver for the company, with quarterly AI-related earnings reaching $2.6 billion—a more than threefold increase from the previous year, according to the company's quarterly earnings reports.

The growth stems primarily from agreements to provide computational resources to other AI companies. Notably, SpaceX secured deals with Anthropic in May and Google in June to supply compute infrastructure, directly competing with established neocloud providers such as CoreWeave.

Despite the substantial revenue increase, the AI division reported a loss of $1.5 billion for the quarter. However, this represents a slight improvement compared to the same period last year. SpaceX has indicated in its public documents that the AI division represents the core source of the company's valuation.

The expansion into AI compute services reflects a broader trend of major technology companies leveraging their hardware and infrastructure capabilities to serve the growing demands of AI development, particularly as competition for GPU resources and data center capacity intensifies across the industry.
