SpaceX Moves Super Heavy Booster to Launch Pad Ahead of Starship Orbital Flight

SpaceX has rolled its Super Heavy booster to the orbital launch pad at the Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, bringing the company closer to attempting the first orbital flight of its Starship spacecraft.

The Super Heavy booster, which stands approximately 70 meters tall, represents one half of SpaceX's fully reusable Starship launch system. When paired with the Starship upper stage, the complete stack reaches heights of around 120 meters, making it the largest rocket ever constructed.

This transportation of the booster to the pad signals that pre-flight preparations for the orbital mission are progressing. The Super Heavy booster will need to undergo final integration with ground support equipment and additional testing before being mated with the Starship upper stage for the orbital attempt.

The Starship program represents SpaceX's next-generation fully reusable launch vehicle, designed to eventually carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, and Mars. The orbital flight test will serve as a critical milestone in demonstrating the vehicle's capabilities before operational missions can begin.
