SpaceX's AI Business Drives 161% Revenue Growth in Q3
SpaceX reported revenues of $14.6 billion in Q3, representing a 161 percent year-over-year increase, according to earnings announced on Tuesday.
The company's growth was attributed to its so-called Super Intelligence (SI) segment and accelerated expansion in its Connectivity business. The SI division posted revenues of $7.6 billion, up 830 percent year-over-year. This growth was primarily driven by new cloud services agreements, the acquisition of Cursor (an AI-powered coding tool), and increased adoption of Grok across enterprise customers.
On the operational side, the SI segment generated $431 million in income from operations, while the Connectivity group posted $2.4 billion. The company's traditional Space division, however, showed a modest $7 million loss in income from operations during the quarter.
The strong performance from the AI-focused SI segment underscores how SpaceX has expanded beyond its space launch and satellite business into artificial intelligence services, with Grok (the company's chatbot developed by xAI) becoming an increasingly significant enterprise product.
