Apple Enters the Foldable Market with iPhone Duo
Apple has officially entered the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo, its first device with a folding form factor. The phone features a 5.4-inch cover screen that unfolds to reveal a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display.
The device ditches Face ID in favor of a Touch ID sensor embedded along its edge for biometric authentication. It carries an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, with Ceramic Shield 2 protecting the back panel and standard Ceramic Shield covering the inner display.
Apple Pencil support is slated to arrive later this year, positioning the iPhone Duo as a potential productivity-focused device. The phone was unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, and Apple Watch Ultra 4 at Apple's "Surprise and shine" event.
Preorders for the iPhone Duo are now open, with the device starting at $1,999 for the base configuration.
