Intensive Diet and Exercise Program Linked to Diabetes Remission in Younger Adults

A study suggests that an intensive lifestyle program combining a low-calorie diet with structured exercise may help younger adults with type 2 diabetes achieve remission within six months.

Among participants under age 45, 54% who followed the program achieved remission, compared with 4% who received usual care. The findings point to the potential value of combining dietary changes and regular exercise in managing type 2 diabetes, while the results are specific to the younger participants studied.
