Modified muscle-repair protein shows promise in early aging study
Researchers have identified a compound that strengthens a natural protein involved in muscle repair. The modified form, called “Super HGF,” more than doubles the protein’s ability to bind to a key receptor and helps protect it from chemical damage associated with aging.
The findings are supported by early experiments in mice. Researchers say the approach could eventually help address age-related muscle loss and preserve strength, although the results are still at an early stage.
