Anthropic adds personal finance features to Claude through Plaid
Anthropic is expanding Claude’s role in everyday financial management with a new Personal Finance feature. The feature connects Claude to users’ bank and card accounts through Plaid, allowing the chatbot to retrieve financial information for analysis.
Users can ask Claude to explain where their money went during a given month, with spending organized into categories such as rent and utilities, shopping, and food. The assistant can also help evaluate whether upcoming bills can be covered before payday, whether a major purchase is affordable, and how much might be saved each month.
The connection is read-only, positioning the feature as an informational tool rather than a way to initiate transactions. By bringing account data into its conversational interface, Anthropic is extending Claude from a general-purpose assistant into a specialized financial analysis tool.
