Hera Probe Captures First View of Asteroid Dimorphos
Europe’s Hera probe has captured its first image of Dimorphos, an asteroid whose surface appears battered by previous impacts and close encounters.
The initial observation provides a close-up look at the small space rock and marks an early milestone for Hera’s mission. Further imagery and analysis are expected to help characterize Dimorphos and its history.
