SpaceX and Qualcomm partner on nationwide Starlink Mobile 5G network

SpaceX is working with Qualcomm to build out Starlink Mobile, a nationwide US 5G network that uses satellites to connect directly to compatible phones and devices.

Under the multi-year agreement, SpaceX will deploy Qualcomm’s Dragonwing technology at tens of thousands of cell sites across the United States. The first locations are expected to come online in 2027.

The partnership is part of SpaceX’s broader push to establish Starlink Mobile as a major US carrier. The company has acquired substantial wireless spectrum and has reportedly explored buying Boost Mobile, while the service is positioned to compete with T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.
