Tesla plans Cybercab sales amid federal safety investigation
Tesla said it will begin selling the Cybercab to customers by the end of the year. The announcement came during the company’s third-quarter earnings call and was made by engineering vice president Lars Moravy.
The gold-colored, two-seater is designed for autonomous operation and lacks a steering wheel and other conventional driving controls. Its planned commercial launch comes amid a federal investigation into whether the vehicle complies with applicable safety standards, leaving unresolved questions about its timing and regulatory path.
